HALF OF FRANCISCO
The amalgamation of two masterpieces that want to give light to a raw version of the male figure. Both films discuss the idea of desire, fear and fractured insanity.
Both make their protagonists share the idiosyncrasy of transforming her female characters into someone they wish them to be. This twisted idea portrayed by both directors serves as a self reflection of themselves taking the role of movie makers therefore shaping personalities.
In a world were the role of women changed drastically, we sometimes forget that men changed too and begin to abandon the male stoicism that was so established for centuries and imposed by themselves. Self- reflection is as psychologically tough to contrive, when the dualism between two personas are being experimented, as dealing with psychological madness.
Our subject finds itself in a gloomy, desolate forest in which he is undertaking his daily tasks, the most pure version of the male figure however, in parallel you are presented with a puzzling inner directed oxymoron.
